Hibiscus Healing was born out of love, culture, passion, trauma, and healing. Our practice strives to decolonize and reimagine birth work so that all who give birth know there are safe spaces for authenticity, humility, and love to meet.

We challenge the societal norms and remind our families of the power they already possess to live in their truth, be heard, and protected. Through education, resources, and advocacy, we strive to help improve all experiences surrounding birth and reproduction.

Hey IG family. I’m looking for resources and donations to help one of my doula mommas. She’s not in Durham (will give birth here), but is willing to drive on the weekends. This is my fiancé and my brother-in-law, Adrian’s experience. I am just rallying behind them. While I can state more details of the harm this organization (not an official non profit) has caused towards their {RESIGNED} Black Trans staff members…. I need my community (and Allies) to simply KNOW the truth. Anne (the executive director of RCC) not only lacks accountability but is a blatant liar. Anne has shown her loyalty to racism, to white supremacy, and to TEXTBOOK micro aggressions and institutional harm. Absolutely not. Too long have Black and other people of color suffered because we don’t want to “air” people out for their behaviors. We allow organizations to get away with using us and then throwing us away. And all in the name of saving face. Of not being labeled combative, of following in the societal expectation of staying quiet, calm, but never honest. [That form of] Punishing the harmed parties for being open about the harm they’ve experienced and at the hands of whom is white supremacy. Quay has never been for that nonsense 😐.
